The Year-end Ratings are UP!!
How to find your Year-end Rating ...
Go to www.sctennis.com, then (on the left column) select TennisLink, then click on "USTA League" photo and you get the League home page. On the right, under "League Players" select "Find a Rating". Then type in your USTA # or name and click on "Go". That's your 2010 year-end rating and the rating at which you will play during 2011. If under Year-end Date, it shows 12/31/09, that is your old rating and the new one has not been posted.
Unhappy with the rating? Well, to the right of the Year-end Date, it reads: Appeal rating. If that is NOT there, you can't appeal. If it is, click and follow directions.
If you want to find the ratings of your teammates, instead of your name or USTA #, input your team number or their names individually. By selecting the dropdowns, you can find out all the new ratings for the entire area. Happy hunting.

Complete Schedule Including Playing Sites
More Than 900 Players Get Ready for Start of Super Senior Sectionals Friday on HHI
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- South Carolina's first hosting of the Southern Section Super Senior Championships this weekend will bring the event to its birthplace on the 15th anniversary of what started on Hilton Head Island and has evolved into national championships. Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club will be headquarters site for the championships that also will have matches at Port Royal, Long Cove, Sea Pines Country Club, Palmetto Dunes and South Beach.
More than 900 players will be competing from Southern's nine states -- Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, with 42 teams in 60s and 24 in 70s. Matches will begin at 8 a.m. Friday and continue through the weekend to Sunday finals.
On Sept. 12, 1995, two teams of 65-and-older men played the first match in what has become part of the USTA national league program. Don Grider, current HHI senior men's coordinator, and MIckey Bearden, who now lives in Hot Springs Village AR, conceived the Super Senior idea and conducted the pilot program. The first full season had nine men's teams and two women's -- a total of 111 players. The 2010 Super Senior Leagues on HHI had 71 teams and 787 and neighboring Coastal Carolina had 47 teams and 484 players.
As the Super Senior format grew, the age level was dropped to 62, then to a 60s and 70s level and, most recently, the 75s. Teams from HHI and Myrtle Beach staged a playoff in 1995 that expanded into a Carolina Challenge in '96 and then became sectionwide in 1999. In 2005, Super Seniors went to a national championship involving the 60s level. Fittingly a Hilton Head Island made it to that national final.
To the number of men and women playing this year's championships, add the spouses, significant others and campfollowers and the Hilton Head Island economy will receive a $1.5 million holiday season "gift" from the tennis world ... just for this weekend. That will match the take from the USTA South Carolina Senior State Championships in May that has just renewed a three-year contact. The Southern Championship will return in December 2011.
Here is the lineup of HHI and CCTA teams that will be in the hunt for Southern championships. Captains names are in (parentheses). "B" teams are those that received wild cards.
